Imphal, October 12 2009: The Manipur People's Party (MPP) has strongly condemned the humiliation and threats made by some commando personnel to two media persons at BT Road-Paona Bazar junction on October 10 .

Reminding that media is the fourth estate of a democracy, the MPP decried the attempt to subjugate it.

Appealing to the Government to avert such assaults in future, MPP alleged that repeated cases of such attacks on media exposed the inability of the Govt to control Police Department properly.
