Imphal, November 11 2008: The proscribed PREPAK has clarified that the bomb attack launched at the residence of Pungshubam ongbi Bimola on November 9 at about 8.05 pm was not in any way related to the election of the Adhyaksha of Imphal East Zilla Parishad.

In a statement self styled Finance co-ordination one, L Sunil said that on October 5 three cadres of the outfit were deputed to personally meet some members of the Zilla Parishad.

Even though Bimola knew that they were cadres of PREPAK, she got two of them arrested along with weapons by police commandos.

After this, the outfit had placed certain conditions to work out an understanding but Bimola ignored the approach of the party, said the statement and added that Bimola got one cadre arrested by her civil escort.

The cadre had gone to meet her.

Accusing the Zilla Parishads of spreading canards, the outfit said that all should repent within three days or else they should face the consequence.
