Imphal, October 07: In protest against the last night's bomb attack by unidentified gunmen at the Kangpal Chanam Leikai residence of MLA of Kshetrigaon A/C Th Nandakishore, womenfolk staged Wakat Meephams at different parts of the Constituency today.

Along with placards and festoons inscribed with wordings like 'Guns and Bombs are not toys', 'Bombs and bullets could never bring peace', 'Lets give up gun culture', Its an act of cowardice to hurl bombs in public places', 'We condemn act of terrorism', 'We are not your victims', 'We want peace', etc, members of Kongpal Nupi Samaj staged the protest demonstration at Kongpal Angomthong; members of Naharup Leitambi Chaokhat Khongthang Nupi Lup, Naharup Pangong Makhong Women Welfare Organisation and Naharup Pangong Makhong Thangbijou Muslim Women's Welfare Organization at Naharup Pangong Makhong; members of Bamon Kampu Apunba Meira Paibi Lup at Bamon Kampu and members of Naharup Awang Leikai, Naharup Mayai Leikai, Naharup Makha at Thongkhong, Naharup Kshetri Chandam and Naharup Wakha Apunba Nupi Lup at the market shed of Naharup Awang Leikai.

More than 1000 womenfolk participated in these protest demonstrations which was held from 10 am to 5 pm today.
