Imphal, November 04 2008: Terming the October 21 blast at Pandol in which 18 people were killed as an act of terrorists and reactionaries, the proscribed KCP asserted that the attack lacked any comprehensible characteristics of organisations working for liberation of the land.

A statement issued jointly by Ak Kokai Meetei and Lamphel Luwangcha observed that the attack had all the signs of targeting civilians rather than security forces.

The attack was carried out by the KCP (MC) to demonstrate their fire-power with the ulterior intention to bully people to submission with regard to their monetary demands, they alleged.

The KCP (MC) is being used by the adversary forces to project the liberation movement in the wrong light for some material gains a few of them received, it alleged.

The outfit questioned the inability of KCP (MC) to use their powerful bombs in eliminating those who have been masquerading as KCP (MC) to intimidate people and extort.

Asserting that the activities of KCP (MC) not only tarnish the image of KCP but also defile the whole revolutionary movement, Ak Kokai Meetei and Lamphel Luwangcha conveyed that they are ready to join hands unconditionally with all those insurgent groups working for the welfare of the KCP.

While condoling those killed in the blast, they also shared the pain and grief being endured by the bereaved families.

The outfit assured all possible assistance to the injured victims.
