Imphal, November 03 2009: Officer in-charge of Yairipok police station has asked all concerned to identify and claim bodies of the five remaining victims who were among seven persons slain by troops of 28 assam Rifles at Andro Sanapat area on October 31 night.

A statement issued by the OC said in case the corpses are not identified/claimed within November 4 necessary procedures would be initiated for disposal of the five as 'unclaimed bodies'.

It may be mentioned that inspite of family members having identified bodies of two of the victims, they initially refused to claim them on the ground that both persons (cousins) were picked up from their respective homes in Ishikha Mayai leikai on October 22 night.

However, an agreement was reached with the State Government yesterday after which the corpses were handed over to the respectively family members from Lilong CHC.
