Govt asked to aid victims at Sairenkhun

Imphal, February 02 2009: Sairenkhun Polangshoi Women Welfare Association, Malang Women Welfare Assn, Tairenpokpi Women Welfare Assn and Atongkhuman Women's Welfare Assn while condemning the incident injuring of K Chinglemba and L Jiten of Sairenkhun, urged the State Government to extend help in the treatment of the duo.

K Chinglemba (22) s/o Bobo and L Jiten (32) s/o Tomba have been undergoing treatment at Shija Hospitals after they were injured as some unidentified gunmen shot at the duo on January 28 last.

Members of Sairenkhun Polangshoi Women Welfare Association in a press meet conducted today at Manipur Press Club said that Chinglemba was picked up by some unidentified persons from a Thabal Chongba venue in the night of January 27.He was rushed to Shija Hospitals after he came running with bullet injuries inside a brick field at a place between Malang and Sairenkhun.

L Jiten was detained by some unidentified persons when he went out with Chinglemba's brother Loyangamba in search of Chinglemba at Yengbunglok.

Jiten was found injured with bullet wound on his left chest at the same place when villagers came to rescue him.
