Imphal, December 01 2009: The United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) has also come out strongly against the brutal murder of former chief of Thayong village Reyamkhup Kom.

A press release issued by the outfit's information and publicity secretary Mathew Thadou said that the UKLF is strongly opposed to any kind of forced assimilation of smaller tribes to bigger ethnic groups.

"The UKLF desires peaceful co-existence of all ethnic tribes either big or small on the principle of mutual respect and honour to one's identity" , the outfit declared.

Asking the group or organisation responsible for killing Reyamkhup to own their misdeed and explain the same through media, the UKLF said that it would initiate its own investigation in case no explanation is forthcoming.

The outfit also conveyed condolence to the bereaved family.
