Imphal, October 29 2009: Following the visible action initiated by the Government against some police commandos involved in the threat and abuse of two reporters on October 10 night, the All Manipur Working Journalists' Union has decided to suspend its decision to boycott all development news related to the Government.

This decision was taken during a special general body meeting held at the Manipur Press Club today, with vice president of the Union, Khogendra Khomdram and former president W Shyamjai presiding.

The Union also decided to demand the suspension, instead of the transfer of the 3rd IRB personnel, who abused and taunted the Telegraph correspondent, Khelen Thokchom at Tera bazar yesterday evening.

The meeting further decided that if the IRB personnel is not suspended then AMWJU would resume the news embargo agitation.
