KCP (MC) clarifies on blast, alleges fake killings

Imphal, October 29 2008: Clarifying that it was not involved in the October 22 bomb blast at near the commando complex, information and public relation officer of the KCP (MC) Puranthaba also alleged that three of those killed at Heingang area earlier this month were out of four apprehended from Dimapur ahead of the claimed encounter.

The armed outfit also denied any relationship with the deceased Paominlan and Haokhoken whom Imphal east commandos and troops of 39 Assam Rifles had gunned down on October 23 at maharabi area.

Identifying the three picked up from Dimapur allegedly by a team of Manipur police commando led by one John of Imphal East district commando unit and subsequently slain in the Heingang incident as Laishram Premananda (19) s/o L Iboyaima Singh of Sugnu Wapokpi, Salam Rajesh s/o S Chaoba Singh of Moirang Khunou Chandapur and laishram Tompok Meetei (28) s/o L Angou Singh of Sekmaijin Bazar, Puranthaba in a statement issued today informed that where-abouts of one Sarat, who was among the four picked up from Dimapur, could not be confirmed till date.

The information and public relation officer of the banned armed group also alleged that the commando team subjected the arrest KCP (MC) cadres to torturous interrogation before the three were executed at Heingang area along with Indian security forces in the stage managed encounter.

The KCP (MC) functionary further conveyed that Sgt Maj N Ingoba alias Tomba alias Leingami (30) s/o (L) N Basanta Kumar of Huidrom Awang Leikai got killed in a shoot-out with a combined security team when some KCP (MC) activists under the command of one Leingam were on their way to Terakhong and Sanjenbam areas for a specific mission.

Describing demise of the four KCP (MC) activists as great loss to the organisation, Puranthaba also conveyed of the outfit sharing sorrow of the bereaved families.

Moreover, the statement contended that several of its activists under Sgt Maj Leingam scattered to different directions after hiding large cache of weapon with three of them ending up at Keibi area.

These three were then taken into custody by another armed group who abused and physically assaulted them up in addition to exposing the trio before media-persons, Puranthaba recounted.

Describing abuse and thrashing by the other UG group as 'very fortunate' for the KCP (MC) who Puranthaba said had also learnt a valuable lesson, he however expressed that in the same zeal exhibited by the group concerned during the physical assault efforts be made to reunite splinter groups of the KCP.

further claiming that Lamyanba Khuman of the KCP (MC) had never acted either against the will and interest of the general public or revolutionary organisations, Puranthaba asserted that KCP (MC) would not hesitate to honour will of the people anytime anywhere.

Meanwhile, conveying its warm wishes to the people of manipur on the arrival of the auspicious Ningol Chakkouba, Puranthaba pledged that one this particular day KCP (MC) will not resort to any activities detrimental to spirit of the festival or hurt sentiment of the manipuri women folk.
