Imphal, March 28 2009: Even as identity of three persons who were either killed in encounter by security forces or by unidentified armed persons were established today, the bodies of three others who could not be identified have been handed over to the Imphal Municipality for disposal.

The UG suspect who was killed by Thoubal Police Commandos during a reported encounter at Sek-maijin Natek Khong under Kakching Police Station of Thoubal district on the night of March 26 has been identified as Yumlembam Tomba (28) s/o late Chan-drasingh of Khurai Nandeibam Leikai near Salanthong.

He was said to be a sta-keholders of a brick field located at Pangei.

He was former cadre of the UNLF but was staying at home after being retired from the outfit around two years back.

He had been reported-ly picked up by some persons who came in a Santro Car from near his brick field on Thursday last.

His body has been taken away by the family members after post-mortem at RIMS today.

On the other hand, along with confirmation of the identity of the two persons who were found shot dead by unidentified gunmen at Irong Chesaba in Thoubal district on the night of March 26 as Md Firoz Khan of Kiyamgei Muslim Makha Leikai and Md Ayub Khan of Lilong, their bodies have been handed over to their respective family members today after post-mortem at RIMS Hospital.

Meanwhile, the bodies of three suspected cadres of KCP who were shot dead by personnel of 29 Assam Rifles during an encounter in the afternoon of March 17 at a spot in between Maringthel and Yangoupokpi have been entrusted to the Imphal Municipality for dispo-sal after post-mortem as no one came to claim the same.

However, the body of the UG suspect who was killed by a combined force during an encounter at New Tairenpokpi under Lam-sang PS on March 24 is till lying at the mortuary of the hospital and would be disposed off as unclaimed body if it could not be identified by tomorrow.
