Imphal, October 25 2008: Zeliangrong Union (ZU) and Zeliangrong Youth Front (ZYF) strongly condemned the burning of Guwahati bound inter-State bus (MN01-1664) by KLO/KLA at Naorijan, Assam resulting to the death of two passengers.

As the two passengers were from the Zeliangrong community, the two bodies demanded the KLO/KLA to compensate the victim families as per Zeliangrong customary practice.

The bodies also demanded for appropriate action against the culprits and make adequate compensation to the deceased families.

While condemning the incident, the All Zeliangrong Students' Union (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) dismissed KLO/KLA's apology saying that the irreparable damaged done to the two members of Zeliangrong community is not justified.

The body also condemned the Ragailong blast.

Condemning the burning of inter-State bus at Naorijan, United People's Front (UPF) asserted that the organisation will support in any agitation initiated by bus association in this regard.

UPF further said that harassing of innocent public taking advantage of SoO is a cowardice act.

Civil Liberties and Human Rights Organisation, Manipur, Communist Party of India (Marxist), Zeliangrong Union, South Zone, Zeliangrong Youth Front, South Zone and Majorkhul Young Association also condemned the incident.
