Imphal, November 18 2008: The proscribed United National Liberation Front (UNLF) has strongly condemned the killing of the Imphal Free Press Junior Sub-Editor Konsam Rishikanta, whose body was found at Langol yesterday.

In a press release issued by its senior publicity officer Ksh Yoiheiba, the outfit alleged that the act was aimed at gagging the media as well subverting the people's spirit.

Observing that media persons have been publishing reports about all the alleged extra-judicial killings and fake encounters risking their lives, the UNLF asserted all right-minded persons should condemn killing of media persons working for the public.

Condoling the death of a promising journalist of the Imphal Free Press, the outfit also shared the pain and grief being endured by the bereaved family.
