Imphal, June 16 2009: Along with setting aflame the effigies of Chief Minister and DGP, protest demonstration continued to be staged at different parts demanding unconditional release of the arrested student leaders who have been detained under NSA in the after-math of killing Prof Md Islamuddin of Manipur University.

The places where the protest demonstrations were staged include Lamboikhul, Uyumpok Khunjao, Huidrom, Wairi, Wangkhei Ayangpalli, Nagamapal Paonam Leikai, Chingmakhong, Chajing Awang Leikai, Thoubal Thoudam, Thoubal Leishangthem Bazar, Khekman and Tera Tourangbam Leikai.

At the end of these protest demonstrations, effigies of Chief Minister and DGP were set flame.

The protestors also shouted slogans demanding the unconditional release of the arrested student leaders However, at Chingmakhong, police dispersed the demonstrators at around 2.15 pm.
