Imphal, October 07: Stating that it has no objection to the demand of MUTSU for following State Reservation Policy in Manipur University, the Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has asked all concerned not to disturb academic atmosphere of the university.

A press release issued by DESAM, nonetheless, observed that the demand of MUTSU to stall the teacher recruitment process until their demand is fulfilled sounds absurd.

No one can predict when would the Government of India yield to the demand of following State Reservation Policy in a Central university .

As such, it is quite irrational to stall the teacher recruitment process until the same demand is met, DESAM remarked.

To amend the rules followed in all the Central universities of India at Manipur University would be no easy task as it would create myriad problems all over the country.

While observing that yesterday's incident was unfortunate, DESAM demanded unconditional release of all student activists arrested in connection with the incident.
