Imphal, April 03 2009: The proscribed KCP (MC) has claimed its hand in planting bombs at three different places including Babupara yesterday.

Disclosing that the bombs were planted by a Special Demo Team of the outfit's 5th Lanjaba Unit to coincide with AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi's visit to the State, a press release issued by the outfit's military affairs secretary Lanheiba Meitei maintained that their objectives of planting bombs differ greatly from the serial bomb blasts which killed several people in different parts of India.

The outfit's movement against the Congress party is not for any benefit to the outfit but the outfit is only spearheading the people to teach the SPF Government a befitting lesson capitalising on the opportunity provided by the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Appealing to the people not to misunderstand the outfit when it undertakes further violent activities in its confrontation with the Government led by Congress party, Lanheiba clarified that the outfit would not stand up against the people when the Government comes to an understanding with the public through peaceful dialogue.

When the people of Manipur were caught in difficult situations, the Congress party, as usual, would look the other way.

But at times of elections when it need people's support, they come to the State to deceive the people with such sweet words as "preservation of territorial integrity", it alleged.

People are witness to the both the State Government's and the Central Government's irresponsible and nonchalant treatment of the issue regarding the brutal murder of Dr Kishan and his staff, it asserted while maintaining that had the issue of Dr Kishan's murder and the campaign of Irom Sharmila happened in mainland India, political leaders of the country would have tackled the issues valiantly.

As there is gulf of difference between the history, culture and ethos of the West and Manipur, their tradition and culture (of the West) finds no place for accommodation in the State, the outfit observed while calling upon the people to build a new Kangleipak.

It further reiterated its appeal to the people not to assemble at the houses of Congress candidates in connection with the elections.

There is no guarantee that there would be no more bomb explosions in future, it cautioned.
