Imphal, October 31 2009: One non-local man has been shot dead by some unidentified persons at Wangoo Laipham Chuthek Chingya Leikai under Sugnu police station at about 7.30 am today.

The deceased has been identified as Joyshankar Prasad (46) s/o Sangor Prasad of Karmar village, Balliya district, Uttar Pradesh.

He ran a meat shop at Sagang Bazar.

On the other hand, out of the two suspected KCP (MC) cadres killed in an encounter with troops of 26 Assam Rifles on October 28 at Songlung village under Sapermaina police station, the corpse of one is still lying in RIMS mortuary unidentified.

In case the deceased cannot be identified by 11 am of November 2, the corpse would be disposed off, said a notification issued by Sapermaina police.

The deceased is of fair complexion and well-built.

He was 5'6" in height.

He wore a black jogging shirt and black slacks.
