Imphal, April 30 2009: At least two people including an engineer in Manipur University have been in a grenade attack by unidentified persons at the residence of the engineer at about 8 pm today.

The injured Executive Engineer of MU engineering cell has been identified as Kharibam Shyamchandra (55) of Thongju Boroi Makhong, informed a police source.

One Longjam Meghe (38) belonging to Shyamchandra's neighbourhood also sustained injuries.

Both of them have been treated at RIMS.

The motive and identity of the assailants could not be established as yet.
