Imphal, December 28 2009: A sit-in protest was held in front of Congress Bhavan, Jiribam today, reports our Jiribam correspondent.

The protest demonstration was organised jointly by Jiri Ima Meira Paibi Apunba Lup (JIMPAL), Apunba Jiri Meira Paibi Lup (AJMP) and women of Hmar ommunity under Hmar National Union to denounce the killing of one Khoirom Lalsing of Lamdai Khunou of Barak Circle, Jiribam by one Lalremthang Hmar of Chaualhurkhal of the same circle on December 23 .

Slogans such as 'Punish the murderer', 'Don't incite communal tension', 'Let's live together peacefully', 'We want peace', etc were written on the placards used by the protestors .

Meanwhile, the JAC against the brutal killing of Lalsing has called an 18-hour Jiribam bandh from midnight today in protest of the killing.
