Imphal, December 27 2008: Corpses of three individuals which have been lying at RIMS morgue have been disposed off unidentified while two other corpses have been claimed by family members.

The five individuals were shot dead by security forces and unidentified persons in separate incidents.

Corpses of the two UG suspects shot dead by a combined team of Imphal West commandos and troops of 23 AR in a reported encounter on December 20 at Ishikha Chingjin under Heingang police station were handed over to Imphal Municipal Council for disposal after post mortem at RIMS today.

Similarly, corpse of the UG suspect shot dead by another combined of Imphal West commandos and troops of 39 AR in a shoot-out on December 22 at Yenkaobung under Lamsang police station has also been disposed off unidentified.

On the other hand, corpse of Ningombam Gopal of Heirangoithong shot dead by Imphal West commandos in a reported encounter at a spot between Heinoubok and Tera Sadokpam under Lamphel police station on December 23 has been claimed family members after completion of post mortem at RIMS today.

It is reported that Gopal was a grade IV employee at Gauhati High Court, Imphal Bench.

The corpse of IRB Rifleman Shijagurumayum Surjit of Sekta shot dead by unidentified persons on December 25 at Loushangkhong under Lamlai police station has also been handed over to family members after post mortem at RIMS.
