Imphal, September 21 2009: In a slight change in guarding Raj Bhavan after UGs attempted to blow up the high security zone in the heart of Imphal, CRPF personnel will take up the task of frisking and scanning of vehicles there.

Cadres of the proscribed KCP-MC drove a bomb fitted car inside the Raj Bhavan compound on Friday.

At least four State CID personnel have been placed under suspension while the police picked up as four persons in connection with the incident.

An Imphal court remanded them to police custody enabling the cops to interrogate them.

Though frisking on visitors is being carried out by the State police at Raj Bhavan , the same would also be done by the CRPF men very soon.

The State police will, however, continue to carry out their duties there.

A senior CRPF official said official process to carry out the new task is underway at Manipur police Hqs.
