Imphal, June 19 2009: The murder of Yengkhom Krishnadas was a handiwork of either the Congress party led by O Ibobi or the armed group PULF, alleged the proscribed KCP.

Saying that it has been scrupulously investigating into the murder case of Krishnadas, the outfit, in a press release issued by its CFR cum DIPR secretary in-charge Tabungba Meitei, observed that Krishnadas was a popular figure who worked for social upliftment of the people of Kakching.

Moreover, the people of Kakching looked upon Krishnadas as a social worker having all traits of a future leader.

Considering the bright prospect Krishnadas had to win elections over Congress candidate in Kakching, it was possible that the Congress party and O Ibobi were behind the murder of Krishnadas perpetrated after taking ransom amount of Rs 25 lakhs, alleged the outfit.

Under the party's efforts to facts and circumstances of the killing, the outfit has started investigation over the driver of Krishnadas, MLA of Kakching A/C Surchandra and three junior officers of State Police suspected to be involved in the murder case.

The other possibility is that PULF murdered Krishnadas in a revenge strike for four of its cadres killed in November, 2005 .

The four PULF men were brutally stabbed to death after they were called by PREPAK to a spot to procure weapons for Rs 7 lakhs.

At that time, there was a joint camp of PREPAK and KYKL at Chingarel and there were no factions within PULF.

Significantly, PULF thinks Y Krishnadas as PREPAK project officer Thomas and that he was the mastermind for the murder of its four cadres, Tabungba disclosed.

It further alleged that detention of Thokchom Nando arrested in connection with the murder case of Lungnila Elizabeth, despite the failure of CBI to frame any charge-sheet against Nando and the clean chit given during mind screening at Gujarat was a malicious conspiracy.
