Imphal, November 16 2009: The body of Thangboi, deputy chief of KLA, who was shot dead by armed cadres of the proscribed KCP (MC) at Leimaram Waroiching in Bishnupur district has been taken by his bereaved family members.

Police handed over to the body to his family members after postmortem at RIMS morgue.

A resident of Saikul Bazar, 30-year old Thangboi Khongsai, s/o Jamkhojang, left behind one son and two daughters.

Information and publicity relations officer of KCP (MC) had claimed that Thangboi was killed for his connivance with the Army in killing three of its cadres.

On the other hand, the body of a UG suspect who was killed by troops of 29 Assam Rifles during a reported encounter at Tulyanglok, near Indo-Myanmar border pillar no.86 on the night of November 7 has been disposed off today as unclaimed body.

The body was handed over to Imphal Municipality for disposal after post-mortem examination at RIMS.

Meanwhile, the identity of the two other UG suspects who were shot dead by personnel of 31 Assam Rifles during another reported encounter near Indo-Myanmar border pillar no.81 in the morning of November 14 are yet to be established and their bodies still lying at the mortuary of RIMS.
