Imphal, December 15 2008: The proscribed KCP (MC) has claimed responsibility for killing Seram Ongbi Shanti w/o S Sanajaoba of Nongren last night.

A press release issued by the outfit's military affairs' secretary Lanheiba Meitei accused Shanti of having intimate relationship with security officers besides acting against the party under the cloak of a Meira Paibi activist.

Notwithstanding the party's repeated intimations to stop colluding with security forces against the party, Shanti refused to mend her ways compelling the party's central security council to award capital punishment to Shanti, Lanheiba alleged.

Claiming that the KCP (MC) respects all women, particularly mothers, the outfit declared that all the more than 10 women who have been allegedly acting as spies of security forces like Shanti will be awarded harsh punishment without any remission.

Punishment invariably results from misdeeds and faults of each individual, regardless of whether the accused is man or woman, asserted the outfit while warning all not to stage any form of protest against the killing of Shanti, popularly known as Nongren Shanti who allegedly had the courage to hand over her own people to security forces just for the sake of her selfish desires.

With regard to the report about peace talk between the Government of India and KCP (MC), the outfit called upon the people not to believe the alleged false propaganda.

Only when the Government of India acknowledges the liberation movement and agrees to accede to the demand for restoration of the lost sovereignty of Manipur, the KCP (MC) would sit for dialogue with New Delhi, it clarified.

The statement further pledged that the outfit would never betray the people nor collect money from public by force.
