Imphal, October 05 2009: Unidentified armed persons lobbed a hand grenade at the Tera Yengkhom Leikai residence of Hijam Shantikumar (45), who is an Executive Engineer in the Electricity Department.

According to police report, the incident occurred at around 8.30 pm.

The hand grenade landed at the residential compound of Shantikumar but it did not explode.

The same has been retrieved by the police.

Meanwhile, in protest against the incident, people of the locality today staged a Wakat Meepham at Yengkhom Leirak Community Hall.
