PANE 2010-a great rendezvous
- Part 2 -

Prof. K. M. Pathak, President of PANE, who was instrumental to the formation of PANE in 1998 in IIT, Guwahati opines, ''I think most of these suggestions can really be implemented after proper discussion at appropriate forum."
Dr. V. Madhurima, Associate Professor of Mizoram University says, "I am impressed by the scintillating atmosphere of the Manipur Conference. On behalf of the Physics Department of Mizoram University, I welcome all the delegates to our University in 2012. I have listened to all the suggestions put forward by participants, invited speakers and various dignitaries eagerly and will discuss it at the appropriate forum. Suggestions given by various luminaries during individual discussions will also be seriously considered at the forum."
Keeping at par with any National Conference across India, be it High Energy Physics Symposium or any other else, it was also suggested by the top brass of PANE to keep one and half hours time reserved for General meeting at the final day's second half in PANE 2012 conference at Mizoram University. The General meeting is expected to take place in the presence of delegates, life members and other dignitaries.
Says Prof. Amarjyoti Choudhury of Tezpur University, "I am very happy that Tezpur University is going to arrange a Theme-based Workshop in 2011 as decided in PANE 2010 Valedictory function at Manipur University. This is a very good decision to have an intermediate Workshop.
A General meeting can be arranged even after that to strengthen the democratic process, wider participation of people from all universities and institutions and decentralization of different creative activities of PANE. The proposal for making the duration of PANE 2012 conference at Mizoram University for three days and the idea of quality control by peer review committee is definitely good."

The lunch arranged on each of the two days at the Physics Department contained innumerable delicious items. Particularly one can hardly forget a brilliant combination of special Manipuri rice and Kheer! And who can forget the excellent quality of humour and hospitality of Prof. C. Amuba Singh, the most popular person of the University, whose presence inspired the entire organizing team to forge ahead! Particularly I can remember his fine sense of humour during the shooting of photographs with various persons.
On the evening of the concluding day, a cultural programme was arranged by the organizers where Manipuri dancers exhibited various artistic dance forms including the famous 'Rasleela'. Also young boys and girls presented Thang Ta--"The traditional Art of the Sword and Spear". This method of self-defense is the nationalistic pride of the young people of Manipur that fascinates everyone all around the ages.
Says Prof. G.C.Das of IACS, "Simply fabulous! Till now I saw these arts in T.V., but today it has been a rare experience to see these live! I am really amazed!" Similar words of appreciation were found to resonate in the entire audience present in the auditorium. "Very impressive and heart-winning", say Prof. Sangam Banerjee of SINP and Prof. M Hussain of Jamia Islamia University along with others.
A fabulous party was arranged in the night of 6th October in the picturesque jam-packed dinner room in the Hotel Classic. (The Hotel is a perfect embodiment of all qualities synonymous with the quality other top hotels across India). The mood was upbeat, the attractive cuisine was sufficient to raise appetite and was very tasty, the rendezvous with boisterous interactions turned electrifying slowly and the smiling in the faces of the organizers reflected splendid achievement.
Everything was perfect, the hospitality was heart-touching but there was somewhere a silent tone of disconnecting from each other for the time being at the end of the party. It is now a time to wait for. Another grand rendezvous is on the pipeline in near future. The spectacular Mizoram University is going to be the haven for Physics connoisseurs in 2012 with all its potential and charm. Till then, good bye!
