3rd Ningol Chakouba, Delhi 2017 (29th October 2017)
On the beautiful day of Sunday, the 29th October 2017, the Ningol Chakkouba Festival was celebrated with fanfare at Community Hall, Raja Bazar, Connaugh Place, New Delhi.
The Ningol Chakkouba Organizing Committee, Delhi, an initiative of Manipuris' residing in Delhi and supported by socially oriented enthusiastic individuals in and outside of Delhi, CSOs, etc., has been organizing this auspicious festival in the National Capital Region for the 3rd time since 2015 with the objectives to promote our cultural richness, women empowerment, and propagate universal brotherhood/sisterhood.
This year, the event was graced by dignitaries from various work fields namely
Ksh. Bhabanand Singh, Hon'ble Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha,
Dr. Th. Meinya, Hon'ble Member of Parliamenr Lok Sabha,
Y. Khemchand Singh Hon'ble Speaker, Manipur Legislative Assembly ,
L. Susindro Singh Hon'ble MLA, Governtment of Manipur,
K.D. Singh Retd. IPS) Ex. Delhi Police Commissioner and
Shri R.K Falguni, Retd. IAS & Chairman IIM Shillong
L. Basanta Sharma, Media Co-Ordinator to the chief Minister of Manipur.
Dr. Bimol Akoijam, Associate Professor, JNU,
Jenee Thoidingjam (MPS), DRC, Manipur Bhavan, Delhi,
Th. Biswajit Singh President Delhi Manipuri Society,
R.K Brajachand, Delhi Diaspora, and
Ms. Esther Serto Dagar, Advocate Sureme Court
were also present at the event and delivered speech to the guests. A total of around 2500 guests including Manipuris' and non-Manipuris from across the country were present in the celebration.

What gives us the immense pleasure to release this pre-note is that almost every women present in the event, including non-Manipuris, were beautifully dressed with Traditional Manipuri attires.
The celebration was formally inaugurated by lighting the inauguration lamp, welcome speech, speech by the guests, cultural programs, solo musical performance by Awarthanga Chiru, lead vocalist of the Rock Band "Blending Chords" followed by lunch and gifts distribution.
"Emageedamak" a short ballet depicting Manipur society and its culture based on the song titled "Emagidamak" was one of the eye catching shows of the event.
Guests were served with 14 selected Manipuri dishes including, fish items, prepared by 7 Bamons from Manipur.
All the expenses incurred in the event were managed with goodwill contributions from various individuals, establishments, and organizing committee members.
The colorful event was concluded by distributing Gifts to the women guests as it is one of the main activities of the festival as per the tradition.
Also, 10 (Ten) Lucky Ningols of the Year 2017 were honored with small token of appreciation from the Ningol Chakkouba Organizing Committee, Delhi.
