Imphal, February 12 2021: Thang-Ta Maheikol, Yumnam Huidrom emerged team champions of the 31st State Thang-Ta Championship-2021 organised by Huyel Langlon Thang-Ta Association, Manipur with a haul of 16 gold, 10 silver and 9 bronze (128 points) .

Ibudhou Korouhanba Thang-Ta Cultural Association, Moidangpok (108 points) and PAHULASI, Mayaikoibi (87 points) bagged the team runners-up and 2nd runners-up titles while the best Coach title was conferred to Huidrom Kirankumar Singh of Yumnam Huidrom.

Notably, the Moidangpok team won one more gold than the team champions.

The best fighter titles of the championship were given to H Priyorbarta Luwang of Ibudhou Korouhanba Thang-Ta Cultural Association, Moidangpok (-25 kg sub-junior boys phunaba ama); Nandita Thiyam of Manipur Thang-Ta Cultural Association, Khongman (-37 kg sub-junior girls phunaba ama); M Thoisana of Universal Thang-Ta Academy Wangoo (-56kg junior boys phunaba anishuba); K Thaja Chanu of Thoibi Thang-Ta Cultural Association, Moirang (-52 kg junior girls phunaba anishuba); H Manganleiba of Thang-Ta Maheikol, Yumnam Huidrom (-46 kg senior men phunaba anishuba) and L Sophiya Chanu of Thang-Ta Maheikol, Yumnam Huidrom (-48 kg senior women phunaba ama) .

Meanwhile, on the final day of the championship, the team champions Thang-Ta Maheikol, Yumnam Huidrom and runners-up Ibudhou Korouhanba Thang-Ta Cultural Association, Moidangpok clinched 4 and 2 gold medals respectively.
