Footgal 3.0 kicks off in CCpur, celebrating a decade of BBBP

Churachandpur, March 03 2025: On a breezy evening at VRF Turf, Muol vaiphei, the air crackled with excitement as Footgal 3.0 - a 6-a-side girls' night futsal tournament - commenced in spectacular fashion.

Organised by the district administration of Churachandpur, this vibrant event marks the tenth anniversary of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative, aiming to raise awareness and celebrate its impact.

The opening ceremony, held before a full-capacity audience, was graced by the chief guest, deputy commissioner Dharun Kumar S.

Also in attendance were SP Churachandpur Prakhar Pandey, as well as district level officers and students.

Highlights of the ceremony featured a performance of the BBBP Anthem by local artists, a captivating choreography display, and a pledge-taking session led by Thangboi Gangte, ADC.

In his address, Dharun Kumar S underscored the importance of fostering equality and opportunity across all spheres of life.

He emphasised the need to empower girls in socio-economic, political, educational, and artistic domains, enabling their holistic development and a sense of purpose.

He further noted that education plays a crucial role in fostering financial and emotional independence among women.

Additionally, the District Election Office conducted a Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign, aimed at promoting accessible and inclusive elections.

As part of this initiative, officials provided guidance on voter registration, correction of details, EPIC replacement, and available support services.

The tournament officially commenced with the inaugural match, kicked off by the chief guest, Dharun Kumar S.With 22 teams competing, the event is set to continue until March 7, 2025 .
