Cricket: Manipur slump to an innings & 80-run loss

Imphal, January 31 2023:
Manipur suffered an innings and 80 run defeat to Assam in their Col Ck Nayudu Trophy match at Tinsukia, Assam on Tuesday.
Resuming their first innings on 165/6 on the third day, Manipur were dismissed for a total of 175 and were forced to play the follow-on where they were all out for 199 in 79.4 overs.
Ng Jameson (50), Bidash (36), Rakesh (25), Al Bashid (20) and Santosh Kh (19) were the batters who could score in double figures in the state squad's second innings.
Abdul Ajij Kuraishi did the major damage to Manipur's batting lineup by racking up five wickets while Dipjyoti Saikia and Amlanjyoti claimed two wickets each, coupled with one by Ishan Ahmed, to give Assam an emphatic victory.
Assam had posted 454 (all out) in their first innings.
