Will fight till full Naga sovereignty: NSCN/GPRN
Source: Chronicle News Service

Imphal, January 31 2023: The Government of the People's Republic of Nagaland (NSCN/GPRN) reportedly celebrated its 43rd Raising Day on Wednesday at its council headquarters and other units.

Extending greeting to people in the name of Lord Jesus Christ on the occasion, NSCN/GPRN chairman/president Yung Aung also paid tribute to national pioneers, comrades and innocent Nagas who sacrificed selflessly for the national cause.

NSCN/GPRN chairman also extended his best wishes to all the revolutionary friends who stood with the outfit in every difficulty and obstacle apart from saluting the brave Naga army for their unwavering commitment and risking lives every day to defend their birth right.

In his message to the people on the occasion, Yung Aung said that a lot has changed since NSCN/GPRN came into existence in 1980.Due to India's continuous divisive design to suppress the Naga movement, many of national workers had fallen into the trap with no hope of ever getting out.

He said that Nagas have witnessed breakup due to political differences leading to fratricide between brothers thereby impeding the revolutionary struggle for many years.

Many organisations have abandoned their national pledge but NSCN/GRPN remains the lone organisation defending sovereign right of the Naga nation till date, he said in the message.

Generations of Nagas bore the brunt of the Indian brutality, injustice, racism and in the process thousands of Naga lives have been sacrificed.

All these atrocities are concealed from the world and the Nagas are declared 'terrorist' in their own soil, the chairman said and maintained that the outfit will not stop pursuing for justice.

According to the NSCN/GRPN chairman, anything less than full sovereignty is not an option as Naga struggle has come too far and Naga people have suffered too long with loss of many lives.

History has taught the Nagas that there is no shortcut to freedom and accordingly the Nagas also have to face their share of difficulty.

The Nagas were already in their 'Promised Land' when India and Myanmar invaded peaceful Naga country through their military might and hence they must leave or face stiffest resistance.

The chairman further said that India is desperately trying to picture itself as the largest democracy in the world while brutally dominating the Nagas and entire WESEA region.

NSCN/GPRN will continue to take all possible measures to fulfil moral and political commitment to Naga people.

The road ahead is difficult but the outfit is confident of getting the final outcome.

India's dirty politics might have succeeded in the past, but the present and the future belong to the Nagas, he said.

While asserting that the outfit will not let enemy to decide Naga people's future; the chairman said Naga's freedom journey has always been confronted by critics, sceptics and naysayers who doubt the struggle and termed it unrealistic and impossible.

These people behind the curtain always fear what lies ahead and hence they do not have the courage to face the future.

Today, the so-called Naga political groups are in the process to trade the Naga sovereignty in exchange for a mere solution under the Indian Union consequently resulting in the Naga people's aspiration held hostage by both the Government of India (GOI) and the pro-talk groups.

They have created enough confusion within the Nagas with their never-ending political drama.

Apart from full freedom, no solution on earth can distort the historical truth, he said, adding that NSCN/GPRN will reject any sell-out solution which compromises the sovereign dream of the Naga people.

According to NSCN/GRPN chairman, it is high time for Naga intellectuals, tribal councils, civil societies and student bodies to deeply examine the facts from wrong.

Two futures await the Nagas to either choose a future of permanent subjugation or hope and freedom.

Nagas must not submit to India's Hindutva ideology and false globalisation politics as it will be the beginning of the end of the unique history, culture and identity of the Naga people, NSCN/GRPN chairman said in his message on the occasion.
