2nd Heibok T-20 Cricket : CHAMP secure 61-run win against PCC

Imphal, January 25 2019: CHAMP, Khagempalli secured an emphatic 61 run victory against PCC, Mayaikoibi in a Group D league match of the ongoing 2nd Heibok T-20 Cricket tournament organised by Langthabal Sporting Club under the aegis of Manipur Cricket Association at Langthabal Public Ground.

Sultan Kareem (43 off 41 balls), Priyojit (29 off 24 balls) and Ch Bonny (24 off 40 balls) helped CHAMP post a total of 141 runs for 4 in 20 overs after winning the toss.

PCC's Ranjan picked up two wickets in this innings while Pritam and Santosh claimed one wicket each.

In reply, PCC went down scoring just 80 runs in 17.3 overs as Ravi Shankar (4 wickets) and Sultan (2 wickets) of CHAMP wreaked havoc across their batting line up.

Ranjan gathered the highest 14 runs in 17 balls while Gibson managed 7 off 13 balls before the following orders went off in quick succession to give the Khagempalli side a 61-run win.

Ravi Shankar of CHAMP was eventually named man of the match.

In the Group A league match played in the evening, FORCE, Kshetrigao sealed a 17-run win against CYCLONE, Thangmeiband who beat SSU by 56 runs in their last tie.

FORCE which won the toss and chose to bat first got off to a good start as Jalli hit a half century (51 off 61 balls) but the innings saw a total of 128 for 6 as latter batsmen could not do well with the bat.

Saddam (26) and Subhandin (20) also contributed runs for FORCE in this innings.

CYCLONE'S Suraj and M Raju picked up two wickets in this innings before they collect only 111 runs for all wickets down in 19.2 overs of the second innings.

Homendro (38) and Narsingh (21) were the only significant scorer for CYCLONE, Thangmeiband as bowling by Kasim (4 wickets), Khurshid (3 wickets) and Robertson (2 wickets) proved too dangerous for them.

Kasim of FORCE who enjoyed a 4 wicket haul was adjudged man of the match.

ESU will meet PTRC in a Group D league match on January 27 while SSU will take on CRAU in a Group A league match latter in the evening.
