CYCLONE stay on top of MNCA Elite Tournament; CHAMP, PTCC win

CYCLONE beat SCCC by 13 runs to stay at the top of MNCA Elite Tournament point table as CHAMP and PTCC recorded resounding wins on Tuesday.
CYCLONE and CHAMP are tied on 17 points in the standings, but the former hold the top spot due to a superior net run rate.
Asked to bat, CYCLONE posted a total of 296 / 4 as both Loktongbam Santosh Meitei and Kishan Laishram struck 80 .
Their innings also saw a significant contribution from Muhammed Al Bashid who scored 62 .
Aditya Prasad (25), Nongthombam Denin (14 not out) and Bikash Singh (13) also did their bit in the innings.
In reply, SCCC put up a spirited run chase but they came up short, despite fighting efforts from Laishram Ronson Singh (80), Khwairakpam Rinju Singh (47) and Roshan Das (34) .
SCCC reached 283/9, but fell short by 13 runs.
For CYCLONE, Abdul Kasim claimed three wickets, Nongthombam Denin and Loktongbam Santosh Meitei picked up two apiece, and Bikash Singh and Kabrambam Homendro Meitei took one each in their side's victory.
Earlier, Sandeep Chakraborty took wickets while Basant and Khwairakpam Rinju Singh bagged one each for SCCC.
CHAMP secured a commanding six-wicket win over CRAU.
Deciding to field, CHAMP bowled out CRAU for 185 in 43.4 overs.
Moirangthem Thomas Singh, Nitesh Sedai and Thingbaijam Nicholson Singh each grabbed two wickets while Mohd Ahsanul Kabir chipped in with one in CHAMP's bowling attack.
In their innings, Lamabam Jotin Singh (60), Sanatomba K (27) and Potshangbam Ronil (22) were the main run-getters for CRAU.
Leikhram Johny Singh led the way with an unbeaten 61, supported by Samir (47) and Nitesh Sedai (24), to help CHAMP to a six-wicket win, outscoring the opposition in 37.3 overs.
In the process, the winning side lost two wickets to Bm Sabakhan and one each to Takhellambam Kala Singh and Heishnam Joyhenba Meitei.
PTCC, meanwhile, overpowered RULE by 117 runs.
Put in to bat, PTCC scored 231/10 in 45 overs as Andy Mandingbam singled-handedly took his team to a re spectable total with a brilliant knock of 156.The Patsoi squad then needed 23.4 overs to bowl out RULE for 114 .
Naorem Victor Meitei shone with the ball for PTCC as his five-wicket haul played a pivotal role in their resounding victory.
Sadananda Okram also bowled well to claim three scalps while Dominic Moirangthem chipped in with one.
