12 elite boxers, 10 in youth event strike gold

Imphal, February 08 2024:
Twelve boxers in the elite competition (men & women) punched their way to gold medals on the 10th day of the 1st Governor's Cup Boxing Championship at the Khuman Lampak Boxing Arena on Thursday.
Nine boxers in the men's elite event and three in the women's event emerged as the top finishers after they prevailed in the finals in their respective weight groups.
In the elite men's event, Kingson Pukhrambam (57kg), Premananda Amom (60kg), Thongam Leninson Meitei (63.5kg), M Sanathoi (67kg), Laiphrakpam Chandrabose (71kg), Ningthoujam Borish Meitei (75kg), Shitaljit Athokpam (80kg), Md Nazimuddin (48kg) and Jackson Pukhrambam Singh (54kg) defeated their respective opponents to claim gold medals.
In the women's elite event, Tubur Sampar Marina (48kg), Toijam Bhumabati Chanu (50kg) and Naorem Bindiya Devi (66kg) triumphed in their gold-medal bouts in the women's elite event.
On the other hand, the gold medallists in the youth's competition were Tompok Thokchom Singh (51kg), Bilat Leivon Kom (54kg), Lourembam Malemnganba Singh (57kg), Laishubam Radheshyam Singh (60kg), Chinglemba Moirangthem (63.5kg), Thongam Bikiraj Singh (71kg), Leimapokpam Rahul Singh (75kg), Thiyam Apsara Devi (48kg), Huidrom Karuna Devi (52kg) and Ahongshangbam Kajal Devi (54kg) .
