CHYUC lift 8th Haraorou Trophy 2019

Imphal, January 28 2019:
CHYUC Challou emerged champions of the 8th Haraorou Trophy 2019, by defeating the host team YMC (A) Haraorou 4-3 via penalty after 1-1 draw during normal time at YMC ground, today.
Though the opening goal of the match was scored by Abinash in the 7th minute to give the hosts, YMC an early 1-0 lead over their opponent, CHYUC fought tooth and nail and found their equaliser in the 37th minute through Krishna.
Despite desperate efforts from both ends to slot home the winners the normal time ended in a 1-1 draw stretching the game to the penalty shoot-out.
In the shoot out, Ngaisana, Manisana and Shanta of CHYUC successfully found the net while only Mahesh and Narendra were able to do the same for YMC (A) to contend with the runners up title.
The winners CHYUC walked away with a cash prize of Rs 30,000 while the runners up (YMC-A), 3rd place (Lamlai FC and 4th place (EUSC Tellou) teams took home Rs 20,000; Rs 10,000 and 5,000 respectively.
The individual award winners of the tournament were: best player, Abinash (YMC-A; best goalkeeper, Noaba (YMC-A); top scorer, Jiten (EUSC); amazing player, Ramananda (EUSC); best defender, Mahesh (YMC-A) .
