17th MSL: NACO outgun UBFC as YPHU edge YOSC

NACO and YPHU triumphed in contrasting styles in Monday's fixtures of the 17th Manipur State League 2024-25.NACO delivered a dominant performance to defeat United Brothers FC 4-2 at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.
Played under mostly cloudy skies with 1,000 spectators in attendance, the match saw NACO capitalize on early momentum and late strikes to seal the win.
NACO set the tone early, with midfielder Nongmaithem Ashokumar breaking the deadlock in the 22nd minute.

Substitute Pebam Ronendro Pebiya, who entered the fray in the 39the minute, doubled NACO's lead just moments before halftime.
United Brothers FC fought back after the break, with Machinmi Kashung reducing the deficit in the 49th minute.
However, NACO's Takhenchanggam Krishnananda Sharma, brought on as a second-half substitute, restored the two-goal cushion with a clinical finish in the 85th minute.
Midfielder Yumnam Borndme Singh then sealed the victory for NACO in the 88th minute, slotting home to make it 4-1 .
A late consolation goal from United Brothers FC's Themchui RS in stoppage time (90+2') did little to affect the outcome, as NACO closed out the game confidently.
At Sagolmang Ground, YPHU claimed a hard-fought 2-1 win against YOSC in a spirited clash.
The match saw YPHU overturn an early deficit with two quick goals to secure three points.
YOSC opened the scoring in the 28th minute when midfielder Takhelmayum Bikramjit capitalised on a defensive lapse, slotting home a clinical finish.
However, YPHU responded swiftly, levelling the score in the 32nd minute through defender Ngoru Semi Moyon.
The momentum shifted decisively in YPHU's favour just four minutes later, as midfielder Okram Rohit Singh fired a low drive into the net from outside the box, sealing the comeback.
Despite YOSC's efforts to equalise, including a late push in stoppage time, YPHU's defence held firm.
The match saw no yellow or red cards, though both teams utilised substitutions strategically to maintain intensity.
