CYC, SSYC victorious in XIIth Jadonang Football Tournament

Imphal, November 18 2018: CYC, Chinikon and SSYC, Sairem secured wins in today's league matches of the Xllth Jadonang Football Tournament being organised by Zeliangrong Football Association at THAU Sports Complex.

Earlier in the morning matches, Khoupum FC earned full points to top Group E without playing the third game against AYC, Araing as the latter did not turned up while KYC, Keikhu and Shangji FC (SFC) played out a 1-1 draw in a Group F league match.

Palmei Milan Kabui gave KYC an early 1-0 lead with a fine strike in the 11th minute but Jangaimei Gonmei rescued SFC with the equaliser in the 28th minute.

Despite attempts from both sides to put in the winner, the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

In the Group G league match of the CYC, Chinikon beat GYC, Guigailong 4-2 to wrap up their campaign finishing third in the Group tally.

Pahomei Gaithuipou hit the opener early in the third minute and put CYC in the frontfoot but NK Machabou (22') and Cincer Gangmei (36') pulled back one goal each and handed GYC a 2-1 lead.

The lead however failed to last long as Longmei Kapelin struck the equaliser in the 43rd minute before Panmei Dony emerged with a brace (56', 57') to hand the Chinikon side a comfortable 4-2 win.

The last match (Group H) saw SSYC, Sairem rode on goals by Palmei Dingampu (18') and Thomas Gangmei (20') to beat KVYC, Kekru Villa by 2-1 margin.

KVYC's lone goal was scored by K Avit in the 27th minute.

Morning: Longjang (LYC) vs Langthabal Khoupum (LKCC) at 7 am and Ramgailong (RYC) vs Khumji Part V at 8.30 am
Evening: Lubanglong (LYC) vs Langthabal Chingtak (LKRC) at 1 pm and Mahabali (MKYC) vs Pantilong (PYC) at 2.30 pm.

Earlier in the women's league match, Ideal Club were held by BH to a 1-1 draw.

BH's Aruna put her team ahead with a goal in the 8th minute but K Silvia of Ideal Club drew level in the 26th minute to settle the game in a 1-1 stalemate.
