XII Jadonang Memorial Football : KKFC, GUFA move into semifinals

Imphal, November 27 2018: KKFC, Keishamthong and GUFA, Gaipuinam defeated their respective rivals by similar 2-1 margin to complete the semi-final line up of the ongoing XII Jadonang Memorial Football Tournament organised by Zeliangrong Football Association, at THAU Sports Complex today.

KKFC will face RYC, Ragailong in the first semifinal match on November 29 at 7 am while GUFA will take on DFC, Duigaipangjang in the last semi-final at 1 pm the same day.

KKFC cruised into the semi-final today edging out KMTYC, Konthoujam Maning 2-1 while GUFA overcame CYRC, Chingmeirong with similar 2-1 margin to complete the line-up.

KMTYC were on frontfoot in today's first match as Tichuiglung R Panmei hit the opener in the 28th minute but his effort went in vain as KKFC made a huge comeback in the second half and eventually sealed the game 2-1.Poujuaklung of KKFC levelled the score in the 52nd minute of the match while his compatriot Lunking ensured their win with another strike in the 66th minute despite KMTYC's late charge.

The last quarter final match between GUFA and CRYC was a bit more competitive with both teams dispelling early attempts settle the first half into a goalless draw.

Both teams entered the field with more purpose after the restart and began to tease one another defence set up.

GUFA had the first chance as Languanrei Raungmei found the breakthrough in the 58th minute but their lead was shortlived as Levi Chawang of CRYC fired in the equaliser 5 minutes latter.

Both teams put in their best efforts in latter part in search of the winners but GUFA under fortuitous circumstance, broke the deadlock with Gangamlung Rongmei making it to the scoresheet in the 70th minute.

With CRYC unable to give befitting reply, the game ended 2-1 in favour of GUFA.
