MEIRA hails Thokchom Chanchan, Pukhrambam Sushila

The Moral Educational Intellectual Renascent and Athletic Association (MEIRAA), Bashikhong has expressed happiness over the selection of Thokchom Chanchan as vice-captain of women hockey team for India and the inclusion of team mate Sushila of Manipur in the same team.
The duo would participate in the 3rd Asian Hockey Championship Trophy due to be held from 2nd to 9th November, 2013 at Kakamigara of Japan.
Chanchan who hails from Bashikhong, is the eldest of four children born to late Thokchom Ingocha and Mema.
At present, she is working with Eastern Railway, Mumbai.
As an international player, Chanchan has played more than one hundred national and international matches.
In the recently concluded 8th Women Asia Cup held at Malaysia, she was also the vice-captain of team Indian that won the silver medal.
The association has wished the duo to enable them to show good performance to succeed in the championship to bring laurels not only for the state as well as for the country.
