Thangmeiband & Khurai Polo Club win Women's & Men's State Polo Championship

Thangmeiband Youth Polo Club (TYPC) and Khurai Polo Club (KPC) lifted the 9th State Level Women's Polo and the 31st State Level Polo Tournament on Sunday at Mapal Kanjeibung.
Both the championship played under the supervision of All Manipur Polo Association (AMPA) .
Thangmeiband Youth Polo Club (TYPC) and Tekcham Polo Club decent on the historic polo ground to fight for the women's title.
Crowd throng the stadium early to watch the finals.
The polo lovers were treated to a goal spree by TYPC.
Kh Habe and A Romabati scored goals for TYPC in 2.24 and 3.47 min of the first chukker and the field was swamp by Thangmeiband players thereby completely dominated Tekcham.

Habe continues the second chukker similar to first chukker and strikes a goal in 0.13 min.
S Langlen also added another goal in 3.39 min to go up 4-0 in the end of the second chukker.
Langlen again did not give Teckcham breathing space by scoring a goal in the 0.38 min of the third chukker.
When Tekcham players were searching for air to breath, Habe fires a goal in 1.36 min to tighten the knob around Tekcham.
In the final chukker, Thangmeiband did not lower their guard and pumped in five goals through S Sangita (2.43 min); S Langlen (3.22 min); Habe (4.8 min) and A Romabati (4.5/5.34 min) to crown as the women's champion.
In contrast to the women's one sided match, the Men's final match between Khurai Polo Club and Manipur Police Sporting Club was a closely fought match.
Manipur Police took the early lead through S Bimol in 4.35 and 6.27 min of the first chukker.
The lead was defended by Police players till the end of the first chukker.
After lying barren in the first chukker, Khurai came back strongly in the second chukker through P Jotin in 0.3 min.
O Roger took the one goal deficit back in 2.32 min for Khuari.
P Jotin increased the lead in 3.42 min for Khurai, to the delight of Khuari support staff and the crowd.
The celebration was short live as M Jawan restored parity by striking a goal for Police in 4.29 min.
After losing the lead Khurai players storm Police territory and pumped in two goals through Jotin (5.1 min) and P Ojit (5.3 min) to take two-goal lead.
The Police players did not wilted under the pressure and fought back strongly.
S Bimol's double strike in 6.27 min and 7 min restore the unevenness to the joy of police players.
The third chukker was complete opposite to the previous chukker as Khurai tighten their defense and did not concede any goals rather they added two goals through Roger (4.46 min) and Ojit (6.18 min) to finish of the chukker as the leader for the first time in the match.
At the end of third chukker Khurai leads Police by 7-5 score line.
With the prestige at stake Police players tried to come back to stay in the match, but their effort was dented by L Thomson when he scored a goal in 1 min for Khurai.
Police press hard to get the three deficit goals and were awarded in 4.21 min when Bimol again score a goal.
Bimol's goal provides a rare hope to the police of lifting the trophy however, possibility of realizing the police's dream was smashed by a goal in the next min of P Ojit (4.22 min).
Khurai play out sensibly the remaining minutes denying any goals to Police team and secured the title in Khurai's favor with the scoreboard reading 9-6 .
Th Lokeshore Singh, Speaker Manipur Legislative Assembly and RK Anand, MLA Naoriya Pakhanglakpa A/C graced the exciting final matches.
