AITA Super Series : Aman Adil clinches boys' singles title, Ishika Chakma emerges girls' champ

Aman Adil Tezabwala of Maharashtra clinched boys' singles title while Ishika chakma of Assam lifted the girls' singles title of the AITA Super Series for U-16 boys and girls organised by Manipur Tennis Association under the supervision of All India Tennis Association at Officers' Club's Deco Turf Tennis Court, Lamphelpat.
Altogether 46 players (29 boys and 17 girls) from across India took part in singles and doubles events.
Aman Adil who beat Rahul Joshua Pamei of Manipur 6-3, 6-1 in the semis, overcame Rishi Jalota of Uttar Pradesh with similar 6-3, 6-1 win to lift the U-16 boys' singles title.
Ishika Chakma of Assam got better of Shimreen Ahamed of West Bengal 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) in the final clash to win the girls' singles title.
Rishi Jalota who finished runners up in the boys' singles competition teamed up well with Dhanush Patel of Gujarat to beat the Delhi pair, Tanish Nahata and Suvrat Mall 7-5, 6-3 to win the boys' doubles title.
Girls' singles champ, Ishika Chakma also won her second title in the doubles event pairing up with Shatavisha Ghosh of West Bengal.
Ishika and Shatavisha got better of West Bengal's pair, Shireen Ahamed and Shimreen Ahamed 6-2, 6-4 in the final.
The U-16 AITA Super Series which got underway from May 6 was conducted under Referee Saikat Roy.
Manipur field a total of 13 players in the super series including 9 boys and 4 girls.
