Imphal, January 29 2020: Khaidem Malemnganba got the better of Huidrom Bhasker in a youth and elite men's 60 kg class at the Manipur State Invitation Boxing Championship which is underway at Boxing Ring Khuman Lampak under the supervision of Manipur Amateur Boxing Association.

The day also saw Boichandra Baite beat Kh Nongdam, Kaminthang Kipgen down Laishram Johnny and M Robinson overcome Lairikyengbam Atikus Singh in the same weight and age category.

Junior Boys' bouts
In the junior boys 48 kg bouts held today, Ngamba Longjam beat Nandeibam Rohit, H Nilakanta beat Thokchom Naobi and Kusum Yasin outlasted Keisham Deven Singh to advance to next stage of the competition.

Meanwhile in the junior boys' 50 kg bouts, Ningthoujam Somananda defeated Ningthoujam Chinglensana and Leichombam Lamnganba overcame Konjengbam Robertson.

Mayengbam Kishan Singh also moved into the next stage as he beat Serto Maxwell in a 52 kg category bout.

Laishram Luhenba and Longjam Samsom too made their way to next round in the junior boys' 54 kg events.

Advancing to the next stage of the junior boys' 57 kg category today were Konjengbam Roshan, Yulung Eraingam and Laitonjam Robert.

Chinglemba Moirangthem also entered the next round of the junior boys' 60 kg event beating Heikrujam Stalin today.

Youth and Elite Men's bouts
Hawaibam Ronel secured win against Lolen Nokcha in the lone youth and elite men's 49 kg event staged today while in the 52 kg bouts, Pebam Suranjoy, Sanjram Suresh, Nongthombam Amarjit and Heikrujam Bhimjit Singh emerged victorious to seal their next round berths.

In the youth and elite men's 56 kg category bouts, Rahul Kumar, Moirangthem Thoiba, Nameirakpam Priyobarta and Nawang Laitonjam secured wins to earn next stage berths while Lairenmayum Nikhesh, Myson Moirangthem, Angom Rakesh Singh and Ningthoujam Khambaton move to the next round of the 64 kg category.

Meanwhile in the 69 kg category bouts, Angouton Nongmaithem, Ngangom Sunil and Ningthoujam Boynao defeated their respective rivals to earn next round berths.

Sub-Junior Girls
In the sub-junior girls' 40 bouts of the third day, Kimhoinei Telen overcame Ngangom Lakhsmi while Laishram Phonia Devi saw off Sneha Chanu to seal their place in the next stage of the competition.
