Manipur bag 2nd position in National karate championship

Manipur lost out to Arunachal Pradesh who bagged the overall team champion award in the recently concluded 5th ISKF Open National Karate-Do Cham-pionship that was held in Guwahati from July 14 to 16.Imphal, Jul 20: Manipur lost out to Arunachal Pradesh who bagged the overall team champion award in the recently concluded 5th ISKF Open National Karate-Do Cham-pionship that was held in Guwahati from July 14 to 16.The karatekas from Arunachal Pradesh amassed 36 gold, 22 silver and 37 bronze medal to clinch the championship title while Manipur ended up with 20 gold, 23 silver and 15 bronze medals in the second position.
The third prize goes to Assam with 11 gold, 20 silver and 37 bronze medals.From the state, Thokchom Roji Chanu and L Sanjeev won the awards for the best fighter in the junior female and senior male categories respectively in the championship.In total 86 players and 11 officials represented Manipur in the championship hosted by the Assam Shito Ryu Karate-Do Association with support from the International Shito Ryu Karate (ISKF) India.
