YWC, ESU enjoy dominant wins in MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament

YWC (Langthabal) and ESU (Wangkhei) enjoyed convincing wins in Saturday's fixtures of the 1st MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament.
YWC dominated AKSDO by 96 runs at PTRC Ground, Patsoi.
The Langthabal boys batted first and were all out for 157 in 24.1 overs as Yumnam Achouba (43), Yumnam Athouba (17), Sorokhaibam Thoungamba (15) and Seram Tondonsana (11) emerged as the main run-getters in the YWC innings.
Then YWC with the help of a fine bowling display skittled out AKSDO for a meagre 61 .
Man of the match, Yumnam Athouba followed up his good batting form with the ball as he snapped 4 wickets to help YWC seal a Convincing win.
Yumnam Sushil and Yumnam Brightson also did their bit with 2 wickets each and Pukhrambam Bonison contributed one wicket.
AT PCC Ground (Mayaikoibi), ESU strolled to a 6-wicket triumph over YPHU (Lalambung).
YPHU were bundled out for 96 in 21.5 overs as Hanjabam Naoba Sharma shone for the Wangkhei side.
In his 4.5 overs spell, Naoba Sharma scalped 5 wickets while teammates Thokchom Simesh and Soibam Sayonba took 2 wickets each, and Bishomcha Khundrakpam accounted for one.
After their fine bowling display, ESU needed just 14.3 overs to knock off the target with 6 wickets to spare.
In the chase, Ahongshangbam Jenash Meitei top-scored with 44 and M Amitkiyon hit an unbeaten 30 to guide their team to a comprehensive win.
For YPHU, Birbal Irom claimed 3 wickets and Bisai took one.
Hanjabam Naoba Sharma, who took 5 wickets and scored 5 runs, was adjudged man of the match.
