10th Manipur State League NISA stun USA 1-0; NEROCA FC win

Imphal, September 10 2015 : NISA, Thangmeiband stunned USA, Khurai by 1-0 while foreign player of NEROCA FC Emeka Christian scored a late goal to help his side seal a 2-0 victory against AIM, Khabam on the second day of the 10th Manipur State League 2015, sponsored by Khumukcham Ingocha Singh Memorial Trust, today at Mapal Kangjeibung, Imphal.

In the first match, Kh Naoton's second half header in the 68th minute through a long pass from K Phalguni helped NISA, Thangmei-band clinch a narrow 1-0 victory against USA, Khurai.

Earlier in the first half, NISA lost an opportunity to go into the lead when Kh Naoton was fouled by S Sadananda of USA.

Later, O Prameshwor and L Sanatomba of NISA were also cautioned in the 40th and 45th minute respectively for unsporting behaviour.

In another group match today, Emeka Christian of Nigeria who is the first foreign player playing for a State team - NEROCA FC-scored in his first match to help his side seal a comfortable 2-0 victory against AIM, Khabam.

The first goal for NEROCA-FC came through Ng Ronald in the 17th minute after swiftly controlling a defence splitting pass from Satish Khundrakpam.

Satish Khundrakpam and Ng Tondonba of NEROCA FC were cautioned during the match while L Manitombi of AIM was also booked for ball handling.
