Imphal, July 18 2012: The indefinite bandh which was proposed to be imposed by Tangkhul Naga Wungnaolong (TNWL) on vehicular movement within Ukhrul district with effect from July 20 has been called off.

This was informed by Tearson Zimik, General Secretary of TNWL, who said that the decision to call off the proposed bandh was arrived at following the positive response given by the authorities concerned during a joint meeting today.

The bandh was supposed to come into effect from July 20 midnight in protest against alleged deduction of 50% fund from the material component of every village under MGNREGS by ADC Ukhrul.
