Imphal, September 13: Reacting to the news report published in this daily of its September 9 edition under the headlines, 'Police pulls up brothers', Puni Pfosemai Village Authority clarified that the main culprit involved in the killing of Sapam Yaima of Khongjom Sapam Mamang Leikai is not an original resident of Khongnem (now known as Pfosemai) and a mentally disturbed person.

According to a press release sent out by the village authority, Loli is a son of one Kumar who hails from Imphal and S Besiiro ( a Mao tribe).

Loli alongwith his mother came to settle at the village after the Naga-Kuki clash in 1997. The village authority further said that it had expelled Loli from the village on March 26, 2000 for his anti-social behavior and conduct.

So Loli is not related to the Khongnem village, it clarified.
