Imphal, November 28 2015 :
Reserve Bank of India (RBI), in consultation with the Government of India, has now decided to do away with the barter system of trade at the Indo-Myanmar border and switch over completely to normal trade with effect from December 1, 2015, according to a press release from the Indian Embassy in Yangon on November 26 .
The Governments of India and Myanmar signed Border Trade Agreement on January 21, 1994 and subsequently opened two border trade points/Land Customs Stations (LCS) at Moreh (Manipur) and Zokhawthar (Mizoram) .
