MACS employees begin strike

Imphal, January 30 2014:
As part of the nation-wide strike launched by All India AIDS Control Employees' Association making several demands to the Government, the employees of Manipur State AIDS Control Society (MACS) have begun an indefinite strike from today at their Lamphelpat office here.
The demands of the association include regularization of employees along with fulfillment of allowances and other benefits on par with the central government employees.
Talking to media persons, President of MACS Employees' Association Abhiram Mongjam said that the employees of MACS have begun the strike in response to the indefinite strike launched by All India AIDS Control Employees' Association demanding the implementation of several welfare measures for the AIDS control employees.
