Imphal, November 27 2024: Assam Rifles on Wednesday organised a wreath-laying ceremony in Moreh, Tengnoupal district to honour havildar Udbir Gurung of Assam Rifles.

According to PRO IGAR (S), on November 27, 1962, Udbir Gurung made the ultimate sacrifice during the Indo-China War in the NEFA region (now Arunachal Pradesh) .

The ceremony began with the laying of wreaths, followed by a motivational address highlighting the bravery and selflessness of the forces in service to the nation.

Over 200 Assam Rifles personnel participated in the ceremony, and paid tribute by laying wreaths and rendering a guard of honour, said the PRO in a release.
