Police arrest woman protesting HM's visit

Imphal, April 16 2024:
State police on Tuesday arrested a woman who was involved in a protest staged at Checkon crossing near Bazaar India against home minister Amit Shah's visit to the state.
According to the police, a protest against HM Amit Shah's visit was held at Checkon crossing by locals including around 50 women on Monday.
As the protestors burned tyres, blocked the roads and caused disturbances, the police filed a suo moto case and the woman who was allegedly involved in the agitation arrested on Tuesday, it mentioned.
Later, the woman was produced before the CJM, Imphal East court and released on bail.
